Look who's looking for a home!:

Aspen is a very active 4.5 month old puppy, possibly a heeler type. She loves to run as fast as she can around the dog pen! She can be shy but soon warms up to a person. She is way too " busy" to stop and let you cuddle her right now, gotta run around more! She is crate trained and potty trained. She loves roughhousing with the other dogs. We are working on walking on a leash. Everything is so new to her. She stopped and was watching a bunny today on our walk. She sleeps through the night. She is teething right now and loves to chew on toys and bones. She’s treat motivated and she knows some commands -- sit, off, down, and no! Aspen is vaccinated and microchipped, and at the time of adoption, will be spayed. To learn more about her, please contact BAR through Petfinder or at borderanimalrescue@gmail.com.

Dakota is a curious and active 4.5 month old puppy, possibly a heeler type. He loves to play with toys and responds to his name very well. He is a bit shy around people and noises, but is learning what they are. We are working on walking on leash. He chases shadows of birds flying by and stops to watch everything on our walks. He sleeps in a crate at night and when he wakes and is ready to get moving, he’ll bark to let me know he's up and wants out! If he has to potty at night, he barks to go out and returns to the crate to sleep. Good boy! He might have an accident in the house if he gets too excited playing with the other dogs! He is a bit of a "talker" and voices it when he plays or wants attention. He is treat motivated and knows some commands -- sit, down, off, and no! Dakota is vaccinated and microchipped, and at the time of adoption, will be neutered. To learn more about him, please contact BAR through Petfinder or at borderanimalrescue@gmail.com.

Sunny was adopted at 2 months old and then abandoned when he was 8 months old. Adopters don't 'want him any more'. Wow.
He has nowhere to go and is waiting in the heat for someone to help him out.
Maybe Black Mouth Cur mix, fixed & microchipped. Do not know if he is housetrained or how he is with cats with he gets along with other dogs and children.
If you want to know more, please call 831-210-3284. Since his rescuer works, please wait for a call back

Update: Gypsy is with another Rescue Organization where she'll have
a better chance for adoption!!
Meet Gorgeous Gypsy! Gypsy is an 18 month old German Shepherd found wandering north of Douglas. She is a very active and smart girl who loves attention like petting and play time. She knows some basic commands, is crate trained, walks on a leash, and is house broken. Gypsy is good with adults, gets along with energetic, larger dogs, but is not good with small dogs or other animals at this point, as she plays rough! We are working to train her, she is a work in progress, and we think she will do fine in a home with adult dogs or no other animals. She is a high energy dog that needs a fenced yard to run in. She needs a strong and energetic adopter who will continue her training and... she is treat motivated. She is learning to play fetch. And she sleeps through the night! She currently weighs 52 pounds and has been vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. Are you excited to bring this girl into your family?

Update: Adopted!
Daisy Mae is about a year old. She's great with kids, other dogs, chases the red dot with the cats, and is a bed hog. She is very friendly, learns fast, and has lots of puppy energy! She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and house trained. See more adorable photos in her Petfinder listing.
To meet Daisy Mae or learn more about her, please leave a message at 915-887-8902.

UPDATE -- ADOPTED
COURTESY POST FOR ANOTHER ORGANIZATION
Gracie is a three year old female rottie mix. She is current on her shots, spayed and microchipped. She was found in an alley in Douglas fighting for her life. Thanks to God, and a great veterinarian, two months later she has healed and is better than brand new and ready for her new home and for her very own story to begin. Gracie is headstrong, but takes correction well and is very obedient.
Gracie is a very sweet girl to her humans. She will get along with males and wants to play with every one but does understand her own limits and accepts that she can't. However she does love to play. There is something in her breed that makes her heel at you constantly or herd you.
Gracie Is 3 years old, 50#, is current on her shots, spayed , microchipped and ready to go.
